Have you ever dreamt of running away to join the circus? Vulcana offers four terms of circus training workshops every year for women of all levels of fitness.

The program regularly includes aerial skills (such as trapeze, tissu and harness), acrobalance, general strength and flexibility, and object manipulation skills (such as juggling and hula-hoops). A variety of other performance skills are also offered in each workshop program, with a focus on group activities.

All classes are taught by skilled, friendly trainers who aim to create a fun and supportive atmosphere. Workshop participants have the opportunity to participate in a ‘show and tell’ performance event that highlights their new skills in a simple but imaginative show for friends and family. Workshop participants also have access to performance projects that give them the chance to experience the development and production of a theatrical event for the general public.

Over the years the workshop program has produced skilled performers, trainers and artsworkers. Many of these have now become integral to Vulcana’s ongoing program of activities.
