Agitate 2023
Creative Intensive, Incubator and Cabarets.
INTENSIVE
In 2023 we welcomed Emma Maye Gibson aka Betty Grumble to the Vulcana Arts Hub to run a multi-day creative intensive with Agitate participants. This intensive helped to build the creative practice of the participants and allowed them to begin forming the ideas and conceptual backing of their works.
Over 20 Artists joined with Emma Maye to share, create and learn, developing their performance making with a focus on presence, grief, spirit and pleasure.
INCUBATOR
Over the course of multiple months the Agitate incubator gave participants development and rehearsal space as well as directorial support. The incubator sessions also allowed for cross-pollination of ideas and peer to peer feedback.
CABERETS
Over two weekends the Agitate Incubator works were presented in two separate line ups. These cabarets recieved high audience attendance numbers as well as very positive audience reviews. The ability to test new works on stage in front of a supportive audience is an integral part of the creative process for many artists.
