Youth Performance Troupe

The Vulcana Youth Performance Troupe is open to children aged 9-17 years old who want to take their skills and use them to make a show. Under the guidance of Vulcana coaches our youth troupe members learn performance skills and how to work with an ensemble. The youth troupe put their skills into practise with public performances throughout the year.

The Vulcana Youth Troupe does not require an audition or previous performance experience to join. Students do need to have completed a minimum of two terms at Vulcana or equivalent.

The performance stream runs on the same 10 week term structure as the rest of our classes, with four terms each year. Students who are enrolling in another class alongside the performance stream receive a 50% discount on performance class fees.

In 2024 the Youth Performance Troupe are making a show that will be performed as part of Wynnum Fringe Festival at the end of the year.

A focus on creativity not competition

The Vulcana Youth Performance troupe is focused on building confidence and creativity for participants. As with all Vulcana classes we use a ‘challenge by choice’ methodology which encourages everyone to participate to the best of their personal ability. We want to make it is easy as possible for kids who are interested in performing to make it on stage without the pressure of auditions or assessments.

“Vulcana is such a fantastic opportunity for kids and adults of all ages & abilities to be creative , be physical , learn new ways to move & create outside “the box” in an open, accepting and non- competitive environment. The staff and instructors are wonderful and have the great ability to build confidence and pride in each of their students. It’s such a supportive and collaborative space.”
