Open Training

Open training at Vulcana is available to Vulcana students and circus practitioners. Open Training gives students and circus artists an opportunity to practice the circus skills they have learnt in class, in their own time. Perhaps you are visiting from out-of-town and need a space to prepare for a performance in Brisbane. Bring your apparatus (or use ours). There will be a Trainer On Duty to help with rigging, and then you are left to train as you please.

There is no need to be ‘approved’ for open training, anyone is welcome to book in online.

Be sure to join our Vulcademy Facebook Group or keep up with our Instagram for any changes made at the last minute. Occasionally Open Training will need to be cancelled if the space is booked, so check our socials before you come in.

When:

Thursdays 11:30am-3:30pm Open to all genders
Sundays 9:30am-1:30pm Women, trans, non-binary people

Cost per session:

$5 a session for Gold & Platinum Vulcana Members
$10 a session for Silver Vulcana Members
$15 a session for non-members

You can pay by cash or Eftpos on the day if you don’t wish to book in online.

Make sure you always adhere to safety rules and use a mat whilst training on aerial apparatus.

Open Training is not a teaching session, but is a chance to practice what you have learnt and connect with other members of the community.

How does it work?
1. Book in and pay online OR check the online schedule to ensure that open training is going ahead

2. Self-service at the counter: Sign In and if you need to pay for your session do so via cash or eftpos.

3. Sign the Indemnity Form (once every 12 months or when circumstances change - no need to do this if you book online)

4. Check in with the TOD and let them know you have signed in, paid, and if you need help with the indemnity form.

5. Vulcana is happy for students to use our equipment during Open Training, or you can bring your own. If it is an aerial apparatus, the Trainer On Duty will rig it for you.
